2023 Annual Kids’ Games presented by Cruise

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, Kezar Stadium was filled with laughter and giggles as over 450 kids toed up on the start line to participate in the Annual Kids’ Games event presented by Cruise. The event was held in partnership with the SF Recreation and Parks Department and was our biggest event yet. All kids crossing the finish line received a ribbon, and the top performers of each heat advanced to the medal round for a chance to climb the All-City Medal Stand. The event would not have been possible without the support of our many volunteers, SFPD officers, SFPD Cadets, PAL Cadets, and our board members. We would also like to thank our sponsors: CruiseThe Police Credit Union of California,  A Runner’s MindGoGoSqueezeKaiser Permanente, Pops Barbeque, and our Executive Board Members. It was a great day, and many great memories were made! You can see our event pictures here and view our highlight video here

Annual Winter Wonderland 2022 in Partnership with Boston Properties

On Friday, December 16 we hosted our Annual Winter Wonderland event, in partnership with Boston Properties. With the Salesforce Tower and Rooftop Park as a backdrop, approximately 200 kids from Gordon J. Lau Elementary School, Longfellow Elementary School, Lawton Alternative, and Visitacion Valley Elementary School met Santa and his reindeer and got to take pictures with them. The holiday spirit was in full effect as kids took part in ice skating, arts and crafts, a jump house, and other fun games. The event was catered with decadent tacos, quesadillas, and a nachos buffet and Boudin Bakery provided Christmas-themed cookies. Officers from the Community Engagement Division and many District Stations enjoyed interacting with the kids. Smiles could be seen and laughs could be heard from across the Salesforce Plaza. Several students and teachers from all schools personally thanked our SFPD Officers for their unselfish service to the community. A big SFPAL Thank You goes to Boston Properties for their continued support and partnership. A special shout out to Bob Pester, John Loftus, Greg Suhr, Steve Colvin, Michael Choung, Laura Kerl, Lani Volz, Logan Allen, Anne Chung, Shirley Xavier, Alexis Chinchilla, Amy Wu, Alex Bautista, Garnette Ransone, Amber Brown, Alicia Barr, Alexandra Lehr, Brodie Pattinson, Taylor Sawyer, Kayleen Feeney, Malinda Min, and Abby Dong for helping make this special day a great success. Waymo and Costco SF help us Sprinkle Holiday Cheer

Even though our Annual Toy Drive looked a little different this year due to the current pandemic, we were able to sprinkle some much needed holiday cheer throughout our community thanks to Waymo and Costco SF. We were able to support Sutter Health CPMC Mission Bernal Campus and their Children’s and Women Center, the Maureen & Craig Sullivan Youth Center, Charm SF, and many other individuals who were in need this holiday season. Despite all of the challenges, our amazing event sponsors never wavered in their commitment to SFPAL and the community we serve. We are grateful for their continued support and partnership and hope we can continue our tradition of delivering joy and smiles to our community in need in 2021.
