Officer Chad Dagit
Chad Dagit was born in San Francisco and raised in Marin County by a father who grew up in the Sunset District and a mother who was an Army brat, moving around the world during her childhood. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 2006 with a degree in Sports Management, Chad returned to the Bay Area to engage with his community through youth sports and recreation programs.
Some of Chad’s most memorable experiences include teaching physical education at Sun Valley Elementary in San Rafael. He also had the privilege of working within the Miller Creek School District and starting a local business that provided after-school sports and summer outdoor camps for elementary and middle school students. Additionally, he coached boys’ travel basketball and high school basketball at San Rafael High School and The Branson School. Chad even helped run a Friday night youth basketball skills league in Marin City.
In 2015, Chad proudly joined the San Francisco Police Department with the intention of helping the youth of San Francisco as a police officer. Since then, he has dedicated his efforts to various community-oriented outreach programs and assignments within the SFPD.
Chad’s lifelong passion for youth outreach, combined with his father’s positive experience as an SFPAL youth, makes serving SFPAL’s mission to assist the youth of San Francisco particularly meaningful for him.
