Deputy Chief Daniel Perea

Deputy Chief is a native San Franciscan. He and his wife are raising their three children in the City. He learned the value and importance of coaching youth sports from his father. He and his wife continued the tradition of coaching baseball, basketball and soccer. “My wife volunteered to coach a youth soccer team when no one else would step forward to do so. She put forth a tremendous effort to learn and develop herself as a coach. Her goal was to teach these kids and give them the opportunity to play.” DC Perea became involved with PAL as a Board member and later as the President while he was assigned as the Captain of Mission Station.

His desire is to support, promote and advance the efforts of the PAL in providing opportunities for kids to play sports. “The opportunity to give back to the kids in the communities we serve across San Francisco is a gift.” He is proud of the opportunity the PAL provides to City youth in the variety of activities the PAL offers in football, fishing, cheer, flag football, jiu jitsu, and the PAL cadet program. He recognizes the value of lessons learned, confidence building and positive experiences will benefit our youth for a lifetime. He is proud to continue the San Francisco Police Department tradition of service to youth. He is committed to helping build relationships and trust between community members and the SFPD through the service of PAL.

Deputy Chief Daniel Perea is a 27 year veteran of the San Francisco Police Department. His professional experience includes assignments in uniformed patrol, investigations, administration, and training.
