Captain Timothy Falvey

Captain Tim Falvey has been a member of the San Francisco Police Department for over 23 years.  He is currently the commanding officer of the Tactical Company. In this role, he oversees the Tactical Unit/SWAT Team, Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (Bomb Squad), Tactical Canines, the Hondas, the Mounted Unit, the Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and the Specialist Team.

Captain Falvey’s first organized sports activity was as a member of a PAL Little League Baseball team when he was eight years old.  This experience gave him the ability to meet many children from other neighborhoods, who would go on to be his classmates as he moved up through school.  It also left him with many great memories of playing baseball.

Later in life, Captain Falvey coached Little League Baseball for several years and saw firsthand how athletics and other organized activities can help start friendships among youth, be a great source of fun, and increase the self-esteem and self-confidence of the youth, as they develop and master new skills.

In his role on the Board of Directors, Captain Falvey works to provide these opportunities, that he enjoyed so much in his own childhood, to the youth of San Francisco.
