Is it raining?: SFPAL gets information from Rec & Park about field closures at 9am on the Saturdays that it is raining. Should a field become closed we will note that on our outgoing message at (415) 401-4666. Please call this number if you're curious if your game is rained out (Please do not leave a message if you don't need to). We're sorry we cannot leave this outgoing message sooner than 9:30am - it is for reasons beyond the SFPAL staff. Please note: Turf fields (Garfield, Franklin & Telegraph on the Embarcedero) will always be open rain or shine - taking into consideration the safety of our participants. Let's hope for a dry & happy soccer season!

IMPORTANT!!: SFPAL teams planning to register with Viking in the Fall for the 2008-2009 season please make note of the following important information.

*Failure to attend a mandatory coaches meeting will result in your team(s) not being included in spring schedules. The meeting will be held at the Police Academy, 350 Amber Dr. SF, CA 94131.

SFPAL is a part of the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) – District 1. There are four leagues in District 1 that are part of CYSA and available to youth in the San Francisco area:

SFPAL – Hosts playing league in the spring
Viking – Hosts playing league in Fall
Mission (415.648.8049) – Hosts playing league in Summer
South City

Any participant/team may register with one of these leagues at the beginning or during the season. Once a team registers with one of these leagues they are locked in with that league for the season (June – May) and must play as a “guest team” for other league play. For example, a team registered as an SFPAL team will register as a “guest team” in Viking’s fall league and in Mission’s summer league. Once a player is registered with a certain team/league, he or she may not play on another team until proper transfer paperwork is filed. Each team may only have three transfers per season.

SFPAL is happy to register your team/player or process movements by appointment only. In addition to soccer, our staff have other activities and office duties to attend to because of this we thank you for your understanding with making appointments and keeping your appointment commitment.
