In the 38 years since Officer Joe Mollo founded the SFPAL judo program, many local and regional judo champions have emerged.

Our current head instructor, 5th degree black belt Bill Wong, has led outstanding judo students to win state and national championships, including 1st place in the USJF Jr. Judo National Championship and 1st place in the National Judo College Championship.

Judo is designed for all youth to participate. The yearly fee includes membership in the United States Judo Federation. We keep costs to a minimum and offer three classes per week.

Judo is a contact and physical sport. Touching, flipping and throwing are all part of the sport. While under Instructor Wong’s guidance, youngsters advance in belt degrees as they master the techniques of judo and increase their skill and love of the sport.
